What our customers say about us

Rona Bridge's Story

"My wife had a stroke in December 2021. After being discharged from Hospital we we did not hear anything from the NHS physio dept for a few weeks so we decided to find our own and we were lucky enough to find Vanessa.

We are so pleased we did. Without her help and expertise my wife would probably been no further forward. From sitting in a chair all day Vanessa has got my wife standing , walking with a quad stick, bending forward, squatting, picking items up from the floor mostly unaided. Also making me a welcome cuppa.

All of Vanessa’s exercises are conceived to achieve practical daily acts to make our lives as normal as possible, whilst being fun and safe. My wife always feels she is in good hands. Vanessa always asks my wife what goals she wants to achieve and then helps her to reach them. She is conscientious, competent and sympathetic.

We would highly recommend Vanessa for all of your physio therapy needs."

Haley's Story

"My healthy beautiful daughter Haley (aged 37 years) endured a significant head injury in April 2019 leaving her with no mobility in her arms and legs and unable to hold her own head up and total loss of speech, doubled incontinence and Peg fed and fully reliant on others, she left Walker gate Hospital nearly a year later with splints on her 4 limbs and a neck brace and still in a state of unconsciousness.

She lives in a lovely care home which caters for service users with various physical disabilities and head injury’s. After 3 years of no communication in April 2022 she spoke for the first time, and thereafter has continued to do so, she has got capacity and insight, she informed me that her legs hurt and that, she felt a burden as she cannot do anything for herself, I reassured her that she would get Physio to help her to move and to be able to sit without pain.

A referral was made in May 2022 to NHS for physio, we are still waiting for an assessment to take place. So I took things into my own hands in July 2022 and sought my own private physio therapist to assist Haley on her Journey.

Vannessa Madden ( Durham Reach Neuro Physiotherapy ) was recommended to me, and I thank my lucky stars that she was, she has not only helped Haley with her mobility she has opened other doors to enable Haley to have a better quality of life. She put things in place and advised me of what was required for her recovery ie: Sleep aids, a new wheelchair for her posture, also complied in-depth reports for all professionals involved and much more, keeping me always updated.

Haley receives intensive Physio from Vanessa 2/3 times a week and the results have been amazing. Haley is using both of her arms, one more than the other at this present time, one leg is mobile but still requires ongoing physio. She is able to hold her own head unaided and she is now eating Puree food, hopefully on her way to be eating normal food in the future,

I cannot praise or recommend Vanessa enough for her professional input but also doing it with the upmost of care and compassion for Haley and her needs and always with a smile which makes Haley’s day.

Thank You so much x"

"Thank you for all your help and support. Your expertise and knowledge has taken me from not been able to move my shoulder and it being painful to having some movement and no pain in one week. This has positively impacted on my confidence and self esteem and I am no longer worried about making more of an effort in my physio sessions."
